ALFA appoints new Executive Director

ALFA is pleased to announce the appointment of our new Executive Director, Ms. Christina Kliesch.

Christina is experienced in non profit administration, grant writing, fundraising, community outreach, and social marketing. She is committed to reducing disparities in access to health care and LGBT causes, and she currently sits on the board of Catawba Valley Pride, Teen Up, a DSS poverty prevention program, and until recently the ALFA Board of Directors.

After a extended vacancy in the Executive Director position, the ALFA Board of Directors is thrilled to have the leadership position now occupied. Christina notes, “2015 was an amazing year for ALFA, surpassing fundraising goals, attracting new granters, and most exciting exceeding all state set goals in regards to client outcomes. I’m looking forward to carrying on the momentum as ALFA expands services to include Hepatitis C testing, and expanding awareness about Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and Post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP).”

Christina earned a BA in Women’s Studies from University of California at Santa Cruz and is currently enrolled in Lenoir Rhyne University’s Masters of Public Health Program. Ms. Kliesch is married to Dr. Brian Goldsmith, History Professor at Lenoir Rhyne University, and together they have four children.
